An addition to our routine check ups at our favorite dentist, there are problems we can address ourselves to insure home, clean dental health. First of all, our gums are not made of steel, they are strong, yet gentle and sensitive. Taking care of our gums is as important as taking care of our teeth.
Lets start with improper dental care:
Vigorous brushing, your toothbrush to your friend or foe. Use a soft bristle toothbrush to avoid damaging your gums. Vigorous brushing can bruise the gums.
Improper use of dental floss, it tries to loosen ran deep in the gums, the gums around the teeth. Finally, this start in periodontal pockets and back to create bruise the gums. Flossing with a gentle motion of the gums, the majority of the plaques are removed.
No time limit is on the brush, most of us give us a 15 second, that we think should be reasonable. This is not nearly enough time to thoroughly clean their teeth. At least two minutes are brushing away most of the food particles. Remember, brushing alone removed only 50% of the bacteria.
The toothpick, toothpicks are great if we don’t have our toothbrushes with us. But we have a tendency of using toothpicks than a jackhammer. This is not only damage to our palates, but by probing the gums around the teeth, we stretch the gums causing the gums to the outside pockets to expand. If you intend to use, toothpick, be gentle with your gums.
The bacteria commonly forms in the mouth within an hour after eating. If left unchecked, the bacteria will begin to feed on the plaque (a sticky film that surrounds our teeth, usually on the gums.) Therefore it is important to brush soon after eating. In this hectic world, not everyone carries a toothbrush with them, with a pocket mouth water a convenient way to eliminate most of the bacteria before they cause damage.
Be judicious with your mouth begins to water you use. Mouthwashes that contain alcohol will dry up the saliva. Bacteria likes to breed in a dry environment. Chewing on sugarless candy or gum is to maintain a continuous flow of saliva to protect against dry mouth.
Some toothpastes contain SLD (sodium lauryl sulfate). SLD, a blowing agent is used in commercial detergents. There is also a big attraction for our gums. The next time you shop for toothpaste, read the ingredients.
Massaging the gums with the gum over the counter conditioner is an excellent way to keep your gums in a healthy condition. Massaging the gum increases blood flow to maintain good circulation.
Gum disease begins with bacteria within the periodontal pocket. (the space between the teeth and gums.) These harmful bacteria if not corrected, continue to destroy the gums and bone loss. At this stage, the gums begin to withdraw give little support to the teeth. If started when looking in the mirror and noticed that the teeth appear longer than usual, gum disease has.
A visit to the dentist twice a year and buying a good conditioner and gum as it is every day. Not merely the elimination of destructive bacteria, but the gums will be resurrected to a healthful condition.
